iCatalysts leads collaborative research projects that help illuminate and catalyze ideas and initiatives to apply innovation and advanced technology to improve our future.
Our researchers study a range of economic, social, entrepreneurial, environmental and energy issues.

For example, we led market transformation research for the California Energy Commission’s “Innovation Benefits” study.
Recently, we led a study the benefits of the private sector action on climate change for the San Diego Foundation, one of the largest community foundations in the United States.
For the California Air Resources Control Board, we led research on how climate policy has stimulated private sector investments in renewable fuel and carbon capture, use and sequestration technologies.
We led a report to the New York Legislature for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) that explores opportunities and programs to advance the State’s climate, electrification, and economic goals. This study conducted a gap analysis by analyzing current programs against initiatives within US states, federal agencies, and governments in Asia and Europe. Several policy options were identified and evaluated.
