Training & Coaching

Training and mentoring people is fundamental to their development. We find that even very experienced people take full advantage of this assistance. Training and coaching helps level the playing field.
We have over 20 years of experience in educational, training, coaching and mentoring programs. For example, since 2020 with funding from the US Department of Energy, US Department of State, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and the State of California more than 4000 people have completed our training events and courses. In addition, since this time, 200 people have graduated from three-month cohort-based programs that have included training and peer learning on several topics and one on one coaching. Many of our training and coaching programs have been sponsored by Fortune 500 companies.
Our training programs for startups and researchers cover business planning, legal and intellectual property, techno-economics, customer and investor communications and pitching, business development, partnering, fundraising, networking, entrepreneurial and innovation program design and evaluation, and mentoring and coaching. Fundraising training includes roadmapping, sourcing and developing grants and equity financing, and grant development, grant writing and budgeting. ICatalysts and its partners have created a series of in-depth video learning modules on several topics.

Pilot Development

Medium sized and large companies and cities often work with companies to pilot near-commercial and commercial technology.
ICatalysts staff have over 30 years of experience helping both companies and technology providers organize pilots. Often we help organizations develop grants for pilots which may be necessary to supplement funds contributed by the companies and providers.
The types of technologies we have piloting experience with include advanced materials, manufacturing, chemical and materials separation, waste management, wastewater, building and energy efficiency, supply chain and circularity, recycling, software, smart grid, energy management systems, environmental, health and safety (EHS) management systems, microgrids and solar energy technologies.
ICatalysts has organized pilots with many organizations including AT&T, Avery Dennison, JD Power, Kaiser Permanente, PG&E, San Diego Gas and Electric, Sony, Toyota, General Motors, City of Los Angeles, City of San Francisco, King County (Seattle), Sacramento State University, Peet’s Coffee, Peerless Coffee, Recology, Waste Management, California Energy Commission, Bayer Corporation, Fleischmann’s Yeast, Granny Goose Foods, Port of Oakland, Port of San Diego, and the Port of LA.
